How lucky are we? Not only do we get to explore the stunning new WA Museum Boola Bardip, which has just opened, but we can also stop by for a feed at the brand spanking new cafe, Epoch, as well.

Meaning a definitive moment in time, Epoch is located just off Beaufort street inside the new museum and is the perfect destination any time of the day—whether you’re pulling in for a quick snack or something more substantial.

You’ll be able to take in views of the WA Museum’s stunning new and old architecture while relaxing in the minimal, neutral-toned surroundings and digging into a seasonal all-day menu that showcases the very best WA produce.

There’s plenty of refined, elevated classics on the menu to explore, including breakfast dishes like free range poached eggs on Mary Street sourdough with braised local mushrooms, hazelnuts and truffle vinaigrette, or a picture-perfect acai bowl with native granola.

Pair your pick with a cup of quality coffee and grab a pastry to take home for later—there’s a huge selection of grab and go pies, tarts, sandwiches and salads to choose from. We’ve got our eye on the exclusive savoury delight created by the legends at Mary Street Bakery, featuring Warrigal greens and saltbush ‘kimchi’ with pepperberry potatoes. But then again, the chicken and kakadu plum sausage roll sounds pretty darn good too.

If you’re dropping by later in the day, you can also sample some sensational larger dishes. Think blue swimmer crab and saffron linguine with grilled red centre lime, garlic, chilli and white wine, or their local made burrata with mixed heirloom tomatoes, quandong torn basil, toasted sourdough and black olive.

The new cafe is fully licensed, so why not pair your local-focussed bites with something West Australian from the drinks list? There’s plenty of quality local beverages on offer, including the new Vasse Felix Idée Fixe Sparkling and lots of craft brews from Gage Roads and Matso’s.

Epoch is now open seven days a week from 7am til 5pm daily for walk-ins only.
