There’s no denying Ku De Ta is on everyone’s Bali holiday hit list, but thankfully a little slice of the opulence that exists there has arrived in Perth. KU Dining, part of the broader Ku De Ta precinct, is perched on the point off Riverside Drive in East Perth.
With stunning views of the Swan River and Heirisson Island—unlike you’ve ever seen before—the contemporary menu at KU Dining showcases only the best Australian native produce.
Stopping by for lunch on a sunshine-filled weekend, you could not deny that laid-back vibes abound here, but all with an air of elegance—not to mention some of the best service around.
Getting down to the menu, there’s plenty to rave about and we recommend going with a small group and ordering your dishes to share so you can taste (almost) everything.
Definitely kick things off with the heritage bread, served with whipped canola and drizzled with oil. Extremely moreish, it was hard not to fill up on this alone.
Other menu highlights include the beef ‘n’ brioche and Mr Lim’s crispy fried lemon pepper quail served with bunya nut.
But the real stand outs are the duck egg and the heirloom tomato tart. The duck egg is hard to share because it’s so delicious, served with black garlic, Manjimup truffle and leek. And the heirloom tomato dish, served with tomato curd and an onion tart base, is an explosion of flavours.
When food is this good, dessert cannot be passed up! The rhubarb, with blood lime, goats curd and white chocolate, is the perfect blend of sweet and sour and the best choice if you like a fruity treat. And if it’s chocolate that gets you going, the black gold delice with golden honeycomb and rosemary is absolutely drool-worthy, not to mention beautiful to look at.
