Summer is slipping through our fingers rapidly, but to send off our favourite season in style, Shorehaven is serving up a huge beachside seafood festival for one day only.
On Sunday 31 March, Waterfront Park will be transformed into a bohemian paradise for the Shorehaven Seafood Festival, showcasing over 25 different food vendors. Entry to the festival is free, and attendees will be able to purchase from a selection of worldly cuisines and food trucks. There will also be plenty of beachside pop-up bars and live DJ sets throughout the event.
To save yourself navigating through the slew of vendors (there are also non-seafood options and sweet treats), here are our top picks for succulent seafood with a side of chilled beats and summer vibes.
Serving up traditional cuisine from the Canary Islands, these guys know a thing or two about tasty, honest food that’s full of flavour. Get ready for mouth-watering seafood paella made with tiger prawns and fresh mussels topped with a mix of Chef Francisco’s Sauces, coriander, avocado, chilli and paprika.
Grilled To The Mac
Known as a staple of the local food truck community, Grilled to the Mac has a serious knack for American classics. Loosen your belt for grilled tuna melts, grilled cheese with prawns and cajun mac ‘n’ cheese. Our pick goes to the prawns and grits, because the only thing that can make seafood even better is cheese.
Up In Smoke
While Up In Smoke cook up a range of smoked meats on their custom BBQ smokers, make sure to save space for their seafood dishes. You’ll be drooling over smoked chilli mussels served with garlic bread, seafood baskets with chips, salad or coleslaw and creamy garlic prawn loaded fries.
So if indulging in fresh seafood by the beach, while sipping on cocktails sounds like your idea of heaven (same), fire up the group chat, grab your mates and make sure to lock this epic Shorehaven festival in your iCal, stat.
