Your Ultimate Guide To The Ascot Racing Carnival

12th Oct 2016

The racing season has arrived in Perth and we’re stoked, mostly because we love any excuse to dress up and sip champagne during the day. But, if we are being totally honest, we kind of have no clue when it comes to the racing itself.

So we’ve teamed up with Perth Racing to get the lowdown on the Ascot Racing Carnival and what each of the seven racedays are all about. As it turns out, this year marks the first year of the The TABtouch Masters which is the crown jewel with three racedays—The Railway Stakes, Winterbottom Stakes and Kingston Town Classic—which you just can't miss!

Go To: Crown Perth Opening Day, Saturday 15 October

Get the season off to a cracking start at Crown Perth Opening Day. The new Trackside Deck has a direct view of the finishing post so you can enjoy some chilled out tunes and delicious bites while you watch the race. MYER Fashions on the Field will also be happening so if you think you’re looking pretty bangin’ you can enter for your chance to represent WA in the national comp.

Go To: Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 1 November

Go on, treat yourself and take the day off work to head to Melbourne Cup Day at Ascot Racecourse with the boys. The race that stops a nation will be live on the big screens and there will also be live entertainment, gourmet food and drink stalls and plenty of other races including the Burgess Queen Stakes.

Go To: Champion Fillies Day, Saturday 12 November

Get the girls together and start the day with a little pampering before you head to Champion Fillies Day to sip on bubbles and enjoy all the fashion and entertainment the day has to offer. Girls, Gals, Gyrls is back this year and your ticket will get you entry into the exclusive reserved area where a DJ and plenty of food and drinks await.

Go To: James Boag's Premium Railway Stakes, Saturday 19 November

The James Boag's Premium Railway Stakes marks day one of The TABtouch Masters and it’s Perth’s oldest Group One—read: lots and lots of prize money!— race. Head to James Boag's Premium Beer Garden and get yourself an icy cold beer while you watch the race and enjoy tunes from our old pals Eskimo Joe.

Go To: Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes Day, Saturday 26 November

Head to The Landing for a long relaxed lunch where you can mingle with friends while enjoying the races at the second day of the TABTouch Masters—Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes Day. There will be live entertainment and gourmet food stations and of course, plenty to drink to keep you cool throughout the day.

Go To: Peters Investments- Kingston Town Classic, Saturday 3 December

The Peters Investments-Kingston Town Classic is the southern hemisphere’s richest Group One (1800m) event and it draws a bumper crowd! Get into the Christmas spirit at the outdoor Christmas party and make the most of the final day of the The TABTouch Masters.

Go To: TABTouch Perth Cup Day, 31 December

For the first time in a long time, TABTouch Perth Cup Day is happening on 31 December instead of 1 January so you can really enjoy the day without a pounding headache from the previous nights’ festivities, huzzuh! If you really want to celebrate, grab a ticket to the Champagne Marquee where you’ll get a four course lunch and plenty of champagne and premium spirits. If you want something a little more laid back, opt for the Picnic at Perth Cup where you’ll get a table for eight in a reserved (and shaded!) area with entertainment by The Presets, food and drinks.
