Little China Girl
You’ll find your late night yum cha fix at Northbridge’s Little China Girl. This super cool spot is open until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights, and they get back up again at 10am most days to service the early birds too.
The menu boasts everything from salted egg yolk lava buns and BBQ pork pineapple buns to all the pan-fried, deep-fried and steamed dumplings under the sun, congee, rice and noodle dishes, roast meats and everything you could ever desire on a dim sum adventure. Look out for the fish-shaped mango pudding swimming in custard come dessert time, and if you’re game, the durian mochi.
And while you're definitely coming for the food, we're also pretty blown away by the new drinks menu. Aside from a cracking range of spirits, craft beers, ciders and wines, it also boasts Perth’s first dedicated baijiu cocktail list. Now, if you’re wondering what’s baijiu, let us fill you in. Baijiu (pronounced bye-gio) is a white spirit hailing from the provinces of Sichuan and Guizhou, and it’s one of the biggest-selling spirits in the world.
Little China Girl has taken the spirit’s distinct flavour and infused it into a delish range or spritzes, tonicas, and cocktail creations that are bound to pack a punch. Why not give the Sichuan Fizz a go, made with Jin Liu Fu baijiu, sichuan infused campari, cherry jam, vanilla essence, soda and mint. Or perhaps the Bubble Gum Baijiu Sour is more your style, with Confucius baijiu, Old Young's Pavlova Vodka, bubble gum, lemon, egg white and cotton candy. Either way, we reckon it’s the perfect pairing for a late night feast. Remember, they’re open till 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.
