We’re screaming for ice cream because Messina’s Filipino inspired menu at the Noodle Markets is sounding worth the brain freeze. Their epic Jeepney food truck is whipping up Southeast Asian desserts and we’re living for the ‘allo allo’, their creative take on the traditional hallo hallo. We’re talking leche flan with caramel-flavoured shaved ice, syrup and sauce, all topped with toasted milk crumb and dulce de leche gelato.
Mi Goreng Donuts At Donut Papi
We’re going a little (do)nuts in anticipation of Donut Papi’s first appearance this year. Expect a unique twist on our old time favourite midnight snack, IndoMie mi goreng. Yep, these legends are serving up a deep-fried doughnut version of Mie goreng and it’s available in Original, Chicken Satay, and Beef BBQ
Korean BBQ Tacos At POKLOL
Let’s ‘taco’bout why everyone is going crazy over POKLOL. We think it may have something to do with their ridonkulous Korean BBQ tacos. Get around your choice of bulgogi beef, chilli chicken and chilli pork tacos with pickled carrots, kimchi slaw, cucumbers, and shallots topped with a secret pokky sauce
KFC Cheese 'Puffles’ At Puffle
If you hadn’t already thought about donning your fave stretchy pants, you’re going to want to now. Puffle is serving up Korean Fried Chicken stuffed inside their signature cheese puffle (basically bubble wrap made out of savoury batter, then folded into a sconce with some tasty fillings) topped with Japanese mayo and shallots. Mr Miyagi, aka the trendy Melbs joint with a well-earned cult following is serving up its ridiculously tasty Japanese fusion hot dogs and hot-diggity-dawg we’re keen. Get your mouth around the panko crumbed Wagyu beef-cheek (5+ score), with Burgundy onion jam, potato puree, black truffle mayo in a soft bao roll.
Phat Fries At Chur Burger
The folks at Chur Burger are giving all new meaning to the term ‘loaded fries’. Think hand cut fries packed with salt and pepper pork belly, chili black bean mayo and pork floss.
Strawberry Watermelon Cake At Black Star Pastry
It’s been coined the Beyonce of Instagram desserts, this photogenic little morsel is as tasty as it is gram-worthy. This gem from Black Star Pastry is made up of two layers of almond dacquoise, rose- scented cream, watermelon, strawberries, pistachios and dried rose petals.
Tom Yum Tater Tots At Rou Jia Mo
You need to get a side of these babies at this Chinese meat sandwich hotspot. Think your childhood favourite deep-fried potato gems with tom yum mayo, chilli, coriander and lime. You’re welcome.
