Things to do Brisbane

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! Not only does it entail time spent with loved ones, gifts, and all of the food, but, we get to listen to Mariah without judgement and we can watch Love Actually as many times as we damn well please! It’s the best.

But, we bet you didn’t know you could do all this awesome stuff too, did you? We’ve teamed up with Westfield to make sure your Christmas is the most fun ever by putting together this list of 9 things you didn’t know you could do this Christmas in Brisbane. BYO Christmas jumper.

#1 Personalise Your Gifts

Don't lie, you've always wanted to personalise your jar of Vegemite, haven't you? Knowing that the answer is yes, we're pretty stoked to tell you that Westfield has a whole bevvy of stuff you can personalise. Head into Myer to nab yourself (or someone special) a personalised jar of Nutella or even personalised M&M's. Yes please! Plus, everyone's fave store, Kmart are even doing personalised jars of Vegemite. Aw yeah!

Grab your personalised Nutella and M&M's from Myer at Westfield Carindale, Chermside and, Garden City or, get your hands on personalised Vegemite at Kmart in Westfield Chermside or Westfield Garden City.

#2 Build A Terrarium

Bet you didn’t know there were terrarium building workshops at Westfield Carindale? And succulent wreaths? Don’t worry, we didn’t either! The terrarium building workshops are actually one of the centre’s most popular activities, and yes, there’s air con. Sit in on a succulent and cacti terrarium workshop to learn how to whip up a mighty fine (and unique!) Christmas gift. Or you know, a gift for yourself #TreatYoSelf.

When: For dates check out the Succulent Wreath page or the Terrarium page.
Where: The Glass Box, upper level opposite Bose at Westfield Carindale.

#3 Get Your Monogram On

Monogramming is fancy, that's for sure. Often considered something reserved for the mega-rich, now you can get in on the action, too! Or, you can personalise a gift if you’re the giving kind. ‘But, how?’ I hear you asking. It’s simple! Just bring your leather goods or snap something up while you’re shopping and the good folk at Westfield Carindale will monogram your goods for you. It’s $5 per item for 1-3 letters or $10 for 4-10 letters with all proceeds going to Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Queensland and Camp Quality. Go on, treat yourself! Or the lucky present recipient. We bet you didn’t know Brisbane was this fancy!

When: 15 December – 18 December

As if all family photos aren’t awkward enough, we’ve finally got the chance to make them awkward on purpose. Yes, this time without your braces and regrettable choice of scrunchie from the 90s. Or with scrunchie, it’s your call—the more awkward the better. The family photos are back by popular demand, so get your most awkward outfit on, think of a hilarious pose, gather the fam, and get snapping! Betcha didn’t know you could do that in Brisbane! Ok, we know you already knew you could do this one; no Christmas is complete without Santa pics! Each Westfield Centre will be doing the classic Santa photos. Did you really think we'd make a Christmas list without mentioning Santa? Santa will be visiting Garden City, Chermside, and Carindale

#9 Snag A Ham!

If that wasn't enough to bust your boredom, you can also snag a half leg of ham when you do your shopping in the Speciality Fresh Food section of Garden City when you spend $70. Boom, Christmas shopping done and hunger smashed. Nice one, Westfield.
