Lads, have you been trying to find a place where you can chill out, have a yarn and enjoy a free beer while you get your mug and mop sorted? Well search no more, my fuzzy friend. We’ve done the legwork and found seven barbershops in Brisbane that not only cater specifically to the grooming needs of the modern man, but also throw in a beer as part of the package.

Jimmy Rod's Barbershop

Various Locations

Jimmy Rod’s serves up old-school hospitality and icy-cold beer as part of their slick cut and shave menu. The shops are designed so guys can sit back, relax and enjoy the company of their fellow Rodders. Think leather couches, dark wood finishes and that manly barbershop scent. With ten locations across the CBD and the ‘burbs, Jimmy Rod’s is already dominating the Brisbane barbershop scene. But wait! Their flagship store coming to Queen Street is being touted as a game changer. Full service bar? A jumping castle? What?! We’ll keep you posted.

The Emporium Barber

Fortitude Valley & CBD

Classic man-styling. That’s what you can expect from a visit to The Emporium Barber. From cut-throat shaves and beard grooming to sharp haircuts and monobrow maintenance, just one sitting will see you transformed into the handsome beast you know you are. But how will you handle being so good looking? You can get to know the new man in the mirror over a quiet drink, a boutique beer or quality Toby’s Estate coffee; it’s all part of the service.

The Moustachery Barbering

New Farm & Bulimba

Before we get to your cut, sir, would you like a beer, rum, or whisky? Yep, getting spruced up at The Moustachery certainly comes with some sweet perks. The décor has a cool Wild West/rockabilly edge and they only cater to blokes, eliminating all possibility of being lined up behind a gal wanting a full-head of foils or an up-do. Just walk on in and you’ll be treated to an expert, one-on-one barbershop experience. The Moustachery in Bulimba also has a coffee shop next door if you need a caffeinated pick-me-up.  Hot tip: if you like the vibe of The Moustachery, check out its brother venue Blind Tiger, a speakeasy bar serving up cocktails and share plates

Crown & Co.

Fortitude Valley

A trip to Crown & Co. starts with the offer of a beer, coffee or whatever’s in the fridge – which could include anything from Young Henrys to Coca-Cola – and finishes with a hot towel and neck shave. Sounds heavenly, right guys?  This Kustom Kulture barbershop has a passionate team that prides itself on giving clients bespoke haircuts. Whatever you want – Crown & Co. delivers. Inside has a rad jungle vibe with a 50s Tiki-themed set up and Cutthroat Coffee brewing their own brand of Blackstar-blended beans on the daily.

Man & Moustache Co.

If what you’re looking for is a man cave where you can get a cut or shave that’s always on point – Man & Moustache is for you. They’ve got beer, they’ve got a pool table and they’ve got an Xbox. I believe that’s all I need to say. … Oh wait on, they also sponsor their local junior AFL Club (go the Jags!). Dudes.

The Harbour Barber

Raby Bay

Bayside boys, there’s a ye-olde world oasis in Cleveland that’s been designed to meet all your grooming needs. The Harbour Barber has a skilled crew of scissor-smiths on board to tame your mane and get your facial hair looking its rugged best, complimentary beer or refreshment in-hand. You can also get your manscaping done on the downlow and they even have a range of man-pampering treatments available. Make sure to book in advance; bringing all that manliness out takes time.

Mr Snippets Barber and Espresso

Mr Snippets Barber and Espresso is a chill little spot that’s more hangout than hairdresser. The barber part of the business is helmed by Geordie Stavrou, who some lads might recognise from Bare Bones Barbershop in Morningside. The cuts are quality and the service is super friendly. The crew is always up for a bit of banter and if you’re a musician, heck, why not pull up a crate and have a jam? While coffee is the bevvie of choice here, there are usually some cheeky beers on hand to enjoy with your killer cut.
