Bring on the meat sweats: the Bayside Beer & BBQ Roadshow is back at the end of this month.
If you haven’t heard of these guys before, they started up last year, smoking pretty everything that moos, oinks and baa’s over two epic, flame-grilled days. This year they’re returning to the bayside suburb of Cleveland.
“This event is a wonderful celebration of the outdoor life we enjoy in Queensland,” says festival Director, Julian D’Souza.
“Visitors will be able to see the latest low-and-slow cooking techniques from the best BBQ crews in Australia. There’ll also be 20 different bars with a raft of boutique beers.”
Sound like your particular brand of meat platter? Here’s the basic rundown. The Bayside Beer & BBQ Roadshow will be running at the Redland Showgrounds from Saturday 29 June to Sunday 30 June. Entry is $10 bucks, and kids under 18 are free.
What does your ticket get you? Pretty much access to the best slow-cooked meat in the country. There’s going to be 15 BBQ vendors from all over Aus selling smoked meat, 100 different craft beers to try, the unofficial Queensland BBQ Championships (where 50 different smokers will compete for $15,000 in prizes), plus a bunch of meat-themed BBQ workshops.
Food-wise, expect slow-cooked brisket, pork ribs, smoked sausages, and anything else that once answered to ‘Daisy’ or ‘Bluebell’ (too much?).
Bring an apron, a bottle of chipotle BBQ sauce, and tuck in.
Where: Redland Showgrounds, Cleveland
