Bottoms Up, The City Of Brisbane Just Got Its Own Official Gin

Get ready to add to your booze collection, because there's a new craft gin in town, and it's one designed to capture the spirit of Brisbane. Distilled just outside of the city, the sip is aptly named Brisbane Gin, and incorporates local flavours of the South East Queensland region, to reference all of the things that make Brisbane special.

Michael Hickinbotham of Australian Distilling Co. partnered with close friend and master distiller Dr Graham Jones, to create a perfectly balanced gin with SEQ flavours at the centre. Hickinbotham and Jones sampled their way through over 40 recipes (we hear it was tough) in order to find the perfect pairing of botanicals to reflect Brisbane’s bright and bold nature, finally settling on finger lime, kaffir lime and ginger as the perfect combo.

The result is a unique botanical signature that's intended to embody the spirit of the city, so you know you’re about to sip on some really delicious stuff. We're not gin experts, but having taste tested a few sips ourselves (all in the name of research, of course), we think it's perfectly matched to Brisbane's sultry weather. Perfect timing for some summer G&Ts.

Right now, Brisbane Gin is available online and is on shelves at a few bars around town, including Dutch Courage, The Gresham, Covent Garden, Hellenika at the Calile, Proud Henry’s, Blackbird Bar and Grill, Boom Boom Room, Malt Traders and more.
