We are more than a little bit excited about this year's James Street Food Trail. This week-long foodie adventure kicks off on Saturday the 3rd of August with a full-on day of live demonstrations, markets, and global street food, and carries on for 6 delicious days of dinners, unique tastings, and lunch-time demonstrations from your favourite James Street personalities.
Earlier this week we introduced you to some of the culinary super stars who'll be cooking up a storm in a series of live demonstrations on the 3rd. Well, today we're in for another treat, because we have even more big James Street names to introduce you to, and more lip-smacking secret recipes to share!
We want you to join us for a culinary journey around the world, and we've teamed up with the gang at Press to take your tastebuds traveling, with the Tapas Around the World cooking class. As part of The Urban List Dinner Series, Press are have teamed up with travel-inspired cooking school, Taste Trekkers, and are taking lucky participants on an around-the-world street-food odyssey.
Anna Wallace, the mastermind behind the Press kitchen, wants to get you into the global spirit, and for this very special occasion, has given us one of her fave travel-inspired recipes. Her quinoa, brown rice, and pumpkin salad is a must-try-meal on a balmy eve' while you're dreaming of a holiday.
Scrumptious Reads, one of our favourite Brisbane book stores, will be playing host to a line-up of great events this Food Trail. With dinners, a terrific night of tea and tasters, a book signing with Movida Head Chef, Frank Camorra, and a sake and food pairing evening on the cards, there's something to please everyone throughout the week in this cosy little book store.
To get you in the mood for this full-on festival of feasting and all-round food appreciation, Scrumptious Reads' own, Julie Tjiandra, has generously shared her recipe for Hainan chicken with us. This warming, hearty dish is great for sharing with family and friends.
