You absolutely cannot mention food trends in this beautiful country of ours without paying lip service the rise and rise of the Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart. If, somehow, you’ve missed out on the endless stream of oozy tart pics filling up your ‘gram feed, where have you been? After going crazy in Asia and launching in Sydney and Melbourne last year, this uber famous Asian eatery had lines out the door since landing in Australia—and for good reason.
The Hokkaido cheese tart is a bit like a cheesecake and a bit like a tart (clearly) and are HIGHLY addictive. The buttery, crust pastry and just-sweet-enough oozy filling are a heavenly combo and you’ll want to load up on as many as humanly possible when they open in Garden City early November.
This may be the second Queensland store, but let’s be honest, we’re ecstatic that we no longer need to schlep it down the motorway to get our hands on these delectable tarts! But it gets better. With the launch of Brisbane's first EVER store, the guys at HBCT will also be bringing with them their newest flavour… the best flavour. Chocolate cheese tarts! What has life been until now?
Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts will be opening early November in Westfield Garden City—watch this space for more deets!
