There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who like oysters and those that are just plain crazy because they don't like oysters. No prizes for guessing which type of people we are (we like oysters a lot, duh), which is why we almost fell off our chairs when we heard that Brisbane is getting an oyster festival!
Our fave local brewery, Green Beacon Brewing, will be hosting the event, and they've sourced the best oysters from around the country so that you can slurp them down by the half, or full dozen. There will also be seafood platters for those who like to share (or not share, no judgement here) plus, plenty frosty cold beers.
We've saved the best bit for last, though. There's going to be a keg of Oyster Stout (hmm, delicious?) which, we've been promised, is actually delicious despite the name. As if all that wasn't enough, Phunky Dory Food Truck is also going to be on site from 4:30 shelling out fresh Australian fish and beer battered chips, fried calamari and salt and pepper prawns.
Did someone say best day ever?
