Breaking: Taro’s Express Ramen In the CBD Is Going Full Vegan

By Jessica Pridmore
21st Mar 2019

In a bold move from the Taro team, the beloved Taro’s Express in the CBD is swapping out their famous pork and chicken broth ramens in favour of a full vegan line up.

From April 1, Taro’s Vegan Ramen will take up new residence at the existing Edward Street venue, continuing to serve up piping hot bowls of ramen—only this time everything on the menu will be vegan.

Nothing regular requests from customers and the incredible popularity of vegan options in their South Brisbane location, Taro Akimoto himself understands what a big decision this is for not only himself, but also for all of us die-hard fans, promising the new location will be “… an oasis of healthy but totally tasty ramen.”

If, you simply cannot bear to part with Akimoto’s famous pork broth, their Queen Street store will still be serving up all the classics. However, given the genius, and somewhat obsessive, nature of Taro’s constant recipe perfecting and tweaking, we’re all but certain that their vegan ramen will be just as hearty and fulfilling.

Vegan or not, Akimoto promises we’ll love his latest venture; and we’re very inclined to believe him. Get behind the change and give it a whirl for yourself—we guarantee you won’t regret it.
