Best Bars Fremantle

Considering we live in a city where summer lasts for a good six months, a bit of rain in Perth can really mess with our heads.

Luckily some of the finest bars in this fair city of ours are also some of the cosiest, so there are no excuses for staying in and hibernating.

Here are 12 of Perth’s cosiest bars.

Mount Lawley

Clarence’s, you are a winner all year round, but it was those lamb shank nights and your epic red wine list that originally stole our hearts. Grab a booth inside and snuggle up or head to the outdoor courtyard and grab a spot near the heaters!

Nothing beats the smell of buttery popcorn as you walk down the stairs into this underground carnival themed bar. So head down and grab a cocktail. Our winter pick goes to the Lachy ‘Scottish Delirium—whisky, strawberry, chocolate and scotch finger. Yum.

The Cabin

Mount Hawthorn

Arguably the cosiest of Perth’s cosiest bars, that fireplace is a sure-fire (#sorrynotsorry) winner in the middle of winter. Grab a red wine and some charcuterie and sit back and relax on those plush leather couches.

The Unicorn Bar

Shenton Park

Being at The Unicorn Bar in Shenton Park basically feels like being at home snuggled up on a couch, but someone else will serve you food and clean up after you #winning.

Dominion League

The wooden interiors and exposed bricks make Dominion League feel pretty warming on first entry, but if you want real cosy, head downstairs. The bar is epic and there is carpet on the floors, and we all know that carpet = toasty warm.

Mrs Brown’s Bar

North Fremantle

We love every single thing about this place, from the big arm chairs to the cosy courtyard outside, but mostly because you can get your Flipside burger from next door delivered directly to your table!

Varnish On King

Nothing says winter like whiskey. That is, except whiskey and bacon. Varnish on King will warm you up from the inside out with their Bacon Flight. Four styles of pork, each paired with a different whiskey #heckyes.

Bar Lafayette

Lavish leather and velvet couches, a rich wooden bar and some of the cutest lamps you’ll ever see help make Bar Lafayette one of Perth’s cosiest bars. Their cheese boards and mixed charcuterie are just the cherries on top.

The Stanley

Another old fave where you can get a Flipside burger delivered straight to your table (or couch if you’re lucky). The Stanley really is the perfect place for a mid week vino. The bartenders are friendly, the wine is great and the couches are the comfiest!

Rose & Crown

Hellooooo fireplace! And hello lanterns that wouldn’t be out of place in Hogwarts. Rose & Crown you almost make us want it to be winter all year round so we can relax on your comfy couches and eat juicy steaks every day.

The Jazz Cellar

Mount Hawthorn

Escape the cold and warm up with some live jazz. Mount Hawthorn’s Jazz Cellar is one of our favourite places to spend a wintery Friday night. Bring your own nibbles and wine or order some pizza (and the best hot chips ever!) and get it delivered directly to your table.

Swallow Bar

Quite possibly the narrowest bar in Perth, it’s also one of the cosiest. Get in early and nab a booth, or head to the heated courtyard and find a table.
