1. Red Man Cucina, Bedford

There is a place called Red Man Cucina. They serve excellent egg and bacon rolls. We did a story on bacon and egg rolls. And while the entrants were delish, this little beauty was left off. Death threats ensued from die-hard B&E rollers. They killed my dog. Please, please try the egg and bacon roll from Red Man Cucina.

As adorable as its namesake, Willy Wagtail Cafe is a charming hole in the wall joint to check out. The extensive collection of coffee paraphernalia is proof that they mean business for your breakfast brew and their home made style brekkies are tasty as. 3. Mercado Negro, Perth CBD

Mercado Negro has a breakfast menu to satisfy the most dedicated breakfast savant. Try the tangy bacon brekkie—slices of bacon on avocado toast with cracked pepper, olive oil and lemon.  

4. Haynes Street Larder, Kalamunda

Gordon St Garage, the epic warehouse restaurant in West Perth, are pretty serious about coffee and their breakfasts hit the spot like the spot owes them money. Get your big brekkie on with their baked beans, kransky, sunny side eggs and toast.

8. Boucla Kafenion, Subiaco

It’s the ultimate coffee and cake(s) destination, but Boucla also serves up delish breakfasts. Settle into this soulful hole in the wall and order anything off the breakfast blackboard for maximum breakfast feels. But really, eat cake for breakfast.

9. Little Olive Leaf Cafe, Willagee

Family run Little Olive Leaf Cafe is an adorable breakfast spot to add to your little black breakfast book. Tuck into their homemade granola with fresh fruit and yoghurt.

10. Fortysevenkirwanstreet, Floreat

Don’t make me choose. The amazing breakfast combos at Fortysevenkirwanstreet just keep on coming. Treat yo’ self to the potato and leek bake—with smoked salmon, hollandaise and poached egg.

Even the most simple breakfast dishes are done to perfection at neighbourhood bistro West End Deli. The brioche French toast dish is too hard to pass up – with pistachio, fig jam and milk ice cream.

Try the brisket benedict at neighbourhood haunt Tbsp. With beer braised onions, slow cooked eggs, hollandaise and ciabatta. It’s food porn at its finest and totes Insta-worthy.

13. Esprezzo, Noranda

Fair trade organic coffee and lots of vego, vegan, gluten free and paleo options, Esprezzo is a popular breakfast hub for health nuts. Graze on their raw breakfast salad—with avocado, asparagus, red capsicum, pea, red onion, sprout mix salad on essene bread with a citrus, herb dressing. I feels the healths already.

Try Alder & Co’s delish passion fruit breakfast panacotta—with muesli and fresh fruit. You could linger for hours at this super-chill lofty breakfast haunt in East Freo.

15. Tarts Cafe, Northbridge

Tarts Cafe can sometimes be like the forgotten middle child next to popular spot Sayer’s Sister (basically it's all like “Marcia Marcia Marcia!”). But it’s a totally sweet breakfast spot in its own right. Try their strawberry granola tart—house made granola tart shell filled with vanilla bean mascarpone and topped with berries, toasted coconut flakes, chia seeds, maple syrup and served with banana and mango sorbet.

If you manage to secure a table at the ever-popular Hobart Deli, then you have the chance to put something delicious in your mouth, like the zucchini and haloumi patties—with bacon, beetroot pesto, poached eggs and greens.

The breakfast game is strong at Chalky’s Espresso Bar in Freo, who devise tasty yum yums like the two peas brekkie—smashed pea and avocado, fetta, confit garlic, balsamic glaze, savoury granola, poached eggs, wholemeal bread.

Nestled into the beautiful grounds of the Fremantle Arts Centre, Canvas Cafe is one of Freo’s best brekkie secrets. The shakshuka, served in a skillet, is a thing of beauty—two poached eggs in a 16 hour tomato sauce, fresh herbs, olives, herb butter and bread.
