We get it. Sometimes standing over the frying pan attempting to whip up some masterful creation at the end of the day can feel like a downright chore. Northbridge restaurant My Bayon is paving the way for Asian-fusion eats around town. Though you’ll taste smatterings of Thai and Vietnamese influence here and there, the food here is distinctly Cambodian. The mini fried spring rolls served with sweet and sour sauce are the perfect snack-sized starters to get you going and as for mains, you can’t go past a curry. Their barramundi Ah Mok curry has a coconut base and is steamed in a banana leaf with special spices and kaffir lime leaves and it’s an absolute standout.
Get ready to carb load thanks to La Lola’s drool-worthy Italian eats. These guys have been a long time favourite of ours and their beef and pork Italian style lasagne is hard to beat. Just make sure you leave room for dessert because you can't go past the tiramisu or the sticky date pudding (or why not order both, we’re not here to judge).
Big Rigz Burger Co
Nestled on South Terrace, Big Rigz has so many burger options you won’t know what to do with yourself, so we’ve done the hard work for you. If you’re finding it difficult to choose, you honestly can’t go wrong with their Cheezy Rigz burger featuring premium, aged, grass-fed beef topped with double natural Cheddar, pickles, onion, mustard and ketchup. But if you’re after something a little different, The Korean Vegan Burger is seriously good. It comes with Big Rigz vegan patty (mushroom, beans, beetroot and walnuts), pickled daikon, kimchi, shredded cabbage, oozing with Korean sauce and vegan mayonnaise.
We get it. Sometimes you just need some soft, sugary baked goods delivered to your door and thankfully, Baked 180 are available on Menulog. We're talking salted chips and chocolate, french toast, lavender and honeycomb and even New York cheesecake. Check their cupcake calendar on their website to see what they're baking today before placing your takeaway order but honestly, whatever is coming out of the oven is guaranteed to be damn good.
Northbridge, Joondalip, Cockburn
Loved for its grandeur and unmissable for the line that’s usually trailing the street out front, since dining isn’t totally back to normal just yet, we’re totally happy grabbing dumplings and dim sums from Dragon Palace’s to go. Choose from steamed, pan-fried and deep-fried dim sum, or go for one of the house specials. The prawn and chive dumplings, steamed egg yolk buns and steamed beef balls are non-negotiables.
