We always feel pretty dang good about drinking a Negroni—the holy trinity that is gin, vermouth and Campari—but this week we get to feel extra good about it because it’s Negroni Week and that means we’re drinking for a cause.
This year a heap of Perth’s best bars are participating in Negroni Week and donating a dollar from every bittersweet Negroni you guys buy to a charity of their choosing. Negroni Week officially runs until Sunday 12 June so you’ve got a few days to drink as many Negronis as possible!
Here are our top 10 Perth bars to get in on the Negroni Week action.
Late Night Valentine
The guys at Late Night Valentine are the Campari kings—seriously they’ll have you doing Campari shots if you hang around at the bar long enough—so they’re an easy choice when you’re after a good Negroni. The crew here will be donating a buck from every Negroni to Beyond Blue so go on and support a good cause.
Frisk. Small Bar
How does a grilled truffle mac and cheese to go with your Negroni sound? Frisk are dishing up what might be the best cheese toastie ever from 5pm every night this week alongside their Negronis and donating to Alzheimer's Australia National. Off you go… Get in quick so you don’t miss out.
The State Buildings
If you still haven’t made it to the State Buildings (shame on you) now is your chance. Long Chim, Post, Petition, Wildflower and Halford Bar will all be serving up Negronis in one of Perth’s most Insta-worthy locations. Get your hashtags ready.
If dark and grungy is more your kind of scene head down to Choo Choos. The crew here are cocktail masters and will make you one of the best Negronis you’ll ever drink which you can enjoy with some popcorn while you play old school arcade games.
In celebration of all things WA, Dominion League will be making Negronis with only WA gins because anything the rest of Oz can do, we can do better!
Strange Company are celebrating all things Negroni this week so if you’re down Fremantle way you’ve got no excuse not to stop in. They’ve got the classic or if you’re up for some adventure ask for their recommendation.
Davvero aren’t just giving one dollar from each Negroni to charity, they’re giving five! That’s right, five bucks from every single Negroni will go to the Harry Perkins Institute for Medical Research. Now that’s something we can get behind!
The Ellington Jazz Club
The Ellington Jazz Club are going to be whipping up $10 Negronis this week and a dollar from each of those will be going straight to The Australian Children's Music Foundation. Jazz, $10 Negronis and good karma, what more could you want in life?
Varnish On King
If you’re not a fan of gin you can head to Varnish on King for a Negroni with a twist. They’ll be making Boulevardier—that’s a Negroni with bourbon instead of gin—in place of the classic Negroni.
