Praise Be, May Street Larder Has Launched Vegan Soft-Serve Just In Time For Summer

If you’ve made the switch to vegan, or are just one of the fortunate few who can’t stomach dairy, you’re probably reminded around this time of year how damn delicious an icy soft serve is on a hot summer’s day. Well thankfully, there is a little spot only a short drive from the beach that is here to ease your soft-serve woes this summer.

That’s right, the team at May Street Larder have launched their new vegan soft-serve and it looks every bit as good as the dairy kind. Just over a five-minute drive from Port Beach, we suggest you make this your new go-to for a post-swim treat. 

As for their new treats, you can try their strawberry vegan soft-serve on its own, or add some of their house made toasted coconut chips or lupinola for that little bit of extra crunch. 

If you're after a little more, May Street Larder are also offering dairy-free smoothies topped with their vegan soft-serve from $9. You can keep it green, with kale, celery, spinach, apple, turmeric and banana, or go for the classic mixed berry smoothie with chia seeds and apple. Either way, you can feel good about these sweet drinks.

Of course, if you’re after something a bit more indulgent and a little less on the healthy side, then you’ll have to try their $8 iced smores chocolate cold drink. Made with milk, ice cream (all optional of course), chocolate sauce, marshmallow syrup and toasted marshmallows, your tastebuds will be thanking you.

May Street Larder is open Monday to Sunday from 7.30am to 2pm, so you may as well grab a bite to eat before you indulge. Their vegan 'Brunchetta' featuring roasted and pickled pumpkin on sourdough, with cashew cheese, and salsa verde is a must try, as is the nourish bowl with roasted sweet potato, chickpea dukkah and loads of veggies.
