Miss Potz | The Verdict

Miss Potz has been around for a while now but there are still plenty of people who haven’t discovered this Mount Lawley gem. Tucked down Beaux Lane, this BYO restaurant is dishing out some incredible Asian flavours at pretty reasonable prices.

Whether you’re planning a girls’ night out or a romantic dinner date for two, Miss Potz will sort you out. No matter who you go with, make sure you go hungry because you’re going to want to try just about everything on this menu.

If you’re a chicken wing fan you’re going to want to order these before you even sit down. Deep fried and served with a Vietnamese caramel sauce, they’re moreish like you wouldn’t believe—and I’m not even a huge chicken wings person (please don't judge me). A sucker for sliders, I made our table of four order two serves of these—that’s six sliders all up—as I couldn’t bear the thought of sharing and let me tell you, I was glad I did. With melt-in-your-mouth rendang beef served in an incredibly soft brioche bun, let’s just say those two extra sliders certainly didn’t go to waste.

Now that our stomachs were prepped, it was time to move on to the main event. The soft shell crab papaya salad was to die for. Fresh, zingy and bursting with flavour, I imagine the vego papaya salad would be pretty good, but the addition of the perfectly cooked soft shell crab made this dish one of the highlights of the night!

The duck red curry was also up there—with seriously tender duck, so much flavour and some sneaky little lychees throughout this dish that were just the cherry (lychee?) on top.

If you’re into dessert, Miss Potz does a delish sticky rice as well as deep fried banana fritters which look pretty darn good.
