Nestled in the heart of uber-cool George Street, Young George is a late night bar and kitchen, as well as a boutique bottle shop. With a menu focussing on local and seasonal ingredients, a killer wine, craft beer and cocktail list and some of the best wait staff in Perth, it’s highly likely you’ll never want to leave. You cannot leave without trying the ramen fried chicken and peanut butter parfait!
Rustic Italian restaurant Limones is all about relaxed fine dining. Serving home-style Italian goodies made on site with local and seasonal ingredients—you can’t beat the $70 three-course set menu—and if you’re after a tipple, the wine list at Limones is killer!
A visit to Barque is not complete without chowing down on the crispy fried whole fish with three flavour sauce. It’s out of this world! Aside from some of the tastiest Asian-fusion food you have ever tried, this uber cool restaurant situated at the end of George Street has an epic cocktail list—your breakfast might just roll into lunch and then onto dinner and drinks!
May Street Larder
The younger sibling of North Freo fave Bib & Tucker, May Street Larder has injected a whole lot of cool into Canning Highway. Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, we are OBSESSED with the Larder’s smoked beef brisket hash and the Mexi-Can (baked tostada, MSL beans, avocado, poached eggs, halloumi and green salsa), and you cannot leave without trying the Cocowhip!
Alder & Co
From the white and blue exposed brick wall, to the cutest little mason jars holding handpicked flowers and all the other food and yummies in between, Alder & Co has opened up a whole new world of amazingness in East Fremantle. The atmosphere in this place is so chilled and laid back...until your meal arrives and you start hyperventilating in excitement. We'd go for the blackberry jam ricotta pancakes with honey roasted peach, mascarpone cream and honey, because yum!
The Left Bank
East Fremantle wouldn’t be complete without the good ol’ Lefty. With one of the best views south of the river, head to The Left Bank to watch the sun go down with a beer in hand. With live music every night over the weekend, there’s no better place to get your boogie on in East Freo.
It's all in the name...Savvy Brands has the utmost savviest of brands in their delightful little store in East Fremantle. With the friendliest staff to top it off, it is the perfect place to snatch up an amazing outfit—whether it's a big occasion or something sweet and casual. They have some incredible brands in store and the next minute, even better ones just start rolling in (hello Bec and Bridge and Amber Secrets). This little gem is a must visit!
One of the dreamiest stores on the George Street strip, a visit to Floral Army is a delight to your eyes and sense of smell. The light-filled boutique is filled to the brim with beautiful blooms, cute pots and planters and sweet little trinkets for your home. Floral Army also create some of the prettiest bouquets and floral arrangements for weddings and special occasions, plus you can even order blooms online!
