There’s no doubt that Northbridge is one of the best ‘burbs in Perth for eating out, but lately it’s getting even better. There’s been a hive of activity with restaurants opening left, right and centre, so even if you think you know Northbridge like the back of your hand, it’s time to head back in and try something new.

Here are the best new Northbridge restaurants, bars and cafes of 2016.

The Hummus Club

It feels like we were waiting for The Hummus Club to open in Northbridge forever, but now that it has opened it’s time to celebrate with beef kibbeh, zaatar fried chicken, falafel and big bowls of hummus. You’ll also want to get your hands on those life-changing doughnuts with orange and chocolate or the chocolate halva brownie topped with fairy floss. You. Are. Welcome.

Bangkok Brothers

Bangkok Brothers just opened on James Street in Northbridge and this Thai restaurant is serving up all your usual fave dishes like duck curry and papaya salad. They’re also doing amazing desserts and a few breakfast dishes too, just to keep you on your toes.

The Chippery & Co

Fancy fish and chips are all the rage at the moment and The Chippery & Co are doing a dang fine job of dishing them up. Get yourself some truffle fries and a soft shell crab burger or try one of the most amazing fish tacos you’ll get your hands on in Perth. If you happen to be passing by early in the day, these guys do a mean coffee and some delish breakfast bars.

Young Love Mess Hall

Young Love Mess Hall might just be the most beautiful venue in the whole of Perth. With lush greenery everywhere you look, the most stunning booths we’ve ever seen and one heck of a feature wall, you’re going to be pretty pleased with yourself when you arrive. Get yourself an Aperol with grapefruit soda and the Japanese Succotache and you’ll be pretty pleased with yourself when you leave too.

Lil’ Toastface

Toastface Grillah got a little brother and he lives in Northbridge. Lil’ Toastface has opened in the space that used to be Bookend and is dishing out a slightly smaller menu of delicious toasties. They’re open for lunch from Monday through Friday and have plans to open in the evenings come summer.

William Street Cycle Co

Yes ok, William Street Cycle Co is officially a bike shop (surprise!) but they also brew tasty coffee and a pretty good range of takeaway eats. Just be careful not to accidentally buy one of the beautiful bikes in your pre-coffee daze. Trust us, it can happen.

Mr Fox On William

In the spot that was once Jean Pierre Sancho, Mr Fox On William will be opening any day now. With some super cute signage and a kick-ass coffee machine, we’re eagerly awaiting the day we can head on in and lounge around with a coffee.

Meat Candy

It felt like we were waiting an absolute age for Meat Candy to open so we were pretty stoked when it opened just around the corner from The Urban List office! With epic fried chicken, a plethora of smoked meats and epic bloody marys, this might be our new regular.

Comet Pizza

Nestled in between The Chippery & Co and The Hummus Club, Comet Pizza is in a beautiful heritage-listed building which was once a residence so it has a homely feel, but with all of the delicious pizza. The hand-rolled dough is made using traditional Neapolitan techniques and you can customise your own pizza with a range of fresh toppings so you can get it exactly how you like it!

Filos & Yiros

Brika’s famous lamb yiros are now available every single day of the week at their new take away window Filos & Yiros. There’s a variety of yiros as well as plenty of pastries and coffee. You can also order a side of that delicious halloumi to go.

Arthouse Dine

Located within the Art Gallery of WA, Arthouse Dine is an edgy, modern bistro serving classics with a twist. They have an amazing brunch menu but lunch is where it’s at with the most amazing pan-roasted cauliflower you’ll ever taste, a spanner crab dish that will blow your mind and a stellar wine list! They’re also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday if you feel like treating yourself.

Chimek

After absolutely killing it at the Freo markets, Chimek decided to bring their fried chicken goodness to Northbridge back in March, huzzah! Fried chicken is always a good idea, but it’d be a real shame to miss out on their burgers here so we reckon get both.
