Giving coffee a run for its money as WA’s favourite drink, at The Urban List we love beer as much as we love Sunday sessions and watching the sunset over fish and chips at the beach.
As part of WA’s highly anticipated WA Beer Week, a celebration of all things craft beer running from November 11-20, local brewery Little Creatures and their best yeast-filled friends will be hosting Sunday Beer School this year. Yes, this is legitimately happening.
Held at Little Creatures’ iconic Freo location, Sunday Beer School (November 13 and 20 from 2-4pm) will teach students how beer is made, what ingredients go into it and the different hop and malt flavours, all expertly guided by one of Little Creatures resident beer gurus (beerus?)
For just $20 (plus booking fee), you will be able to taste beer from all over the world, nibble on some Little Creatures noms and leave with some impressive facts to whip out at your next BBQ. You’ll even get a Creatures goodie bag to take home.
Wanna know what else is happening at WA Beer Week?
The Little Creatures Family Reunion Party and Tap Takeover will also be back this year and the line-up is better than ever. The Little Creatures crew are pretty chuffed about what some of their ex-Creatures have gone on to achieve so they’ve given over their taps at Creatures NextDoor to show what some of their extended family are producing.
The team will also be hosting brewery tours every day of the week at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm ($12pp) and will have some special guest beers on throughout the week as well as their Fremantle-inspired Shift Brewers’ Stash ‘Uncontained Lager’—a beer created in collaboration with local Fremantle hospitality venues to engage the local craft beer drinking community. This beer has been designed around ‘Freo 6160’, with 6 malts, 1 yeast, 6 hop additions, and 0 preservatives. Clever huh!
Kicking off the festivities for WA Beer Week is Fremantle BeerFest where Little Creatures will be joined by over 40 other WA breweries for three days of craft beer, local food, beer master classes, burlesque, comedy and loads more.
