Northside: represent. We've got Toombul and the Sandgate 'beach' already. But in case these monumental landmarks aren't enough for you, we've also found the best cafes, coffee spots, and breakfast nooks every northsider should know about.
The Low Road Café | Windsor doesn't get a lot of gastronomical attention on the café scene, which is why we were stoked when new café The Low Road hit the scene. With a tiki-inspired, kitsch aesthetic and eclectic serving utensils, you can be sure your breakfast is going to be served up in style, and it's going to be delish'. Try the beans.
Alcove Cafe & Deli | This Wilston café, corner store, and fresh produce hidey-hole has just celebrated its first birthday (hip-hip). Alcove has its produce arranged so adorably, Hampton's style, it seems a shame to buy it up. As well as the killer breakfast menu, there are salads, gourmet staples, and divine sweet treats for you to sample.
Brewbakers | Brewbakers has a loyal following of clientele who come for the freshly baked breads, sourdough jam donuts (yum), and bagels, and stay for the simple and satisfying breakfast and lunch menus. You need a strong will to pop in to this Albion favourite for a freshly baked crusty loaf and just stop there.
Dandelion & Driftwood | Coffee lovers love D&D, because the coffee is sublime. Everyone in Hendra loves D&D because their breakfast and lunch offerings are totally moreish, with bananas and caramel waffles, savoury mince, and gourmet toasties on the menu. They also have an assortment of sweeties (peanut butter whoopie pies and fresh scones), and do a mean high tea. Pass the cream.
Slightly Twisted Refreshment Lounge | This Nundah spot is a bit of an unknown treasure, which is shame because we think cafes that take delicious drinks this seriously ought to be rewarded. Slightly twisted is a café and dessert spot that specialises in refreshments. Their range of milkshakes, ice coffees, teas, and desserts are hard to find an equal in Brisbane. And their breakfast menu is available until 3pm!
