Three of Brisbane’s best DJs will be hitting the decks at Valley favourite, Brunswick Social this New Year’s Eve. Continuing their tradition of hosting a NYE dinner sitting for those of us that like our beauty sleep—or have somewhere to be at the strike of midnight—Libertine will be laying on their typically classy French Vietnamese fare for New Years Eve Early. Lovers of live music, this one’s for you! New kid on the block, Brooklyn Standard is putting on an epic night of live music, stiff drinks (their already infamous ‘Jack Rabbit Slim’ cocktail of tequila, mint, and jalapeño will bounce you off the walls!) and a whole lot of NYC ‘tude. With super-cool bands Bella Reunion and Alphabet Street pumping out the tunes, this is one New Year’s Eve to remember… Or not!

Our friends at River Quay’s resident Italian trattoria, Popolo sure now how to put on a party, and they’re proving it by holding a doozy of a NYE shin-dig. With two packages to choose from—a 7-course chef’s selection feast and an 8-course menu plus 4 hour premium drinks package—you’ll be the first one singing Auld Lang Syne, well before everyone else.

Public are hosting two delicious menus across two sittings for their New Year’s Eve banquet dinner. The first banquet kicks off from 5pm (perfectly timed if you want to catch the 8:30pm fireworks at South Bank) and includes kingfish, orange, and chilli; prawn, kimchi and peanut; and Public’s famous wagyu brisket, among other goodies. (Hot tip: kids eat free!) The second sitting at 8:15pm is a premium banquet, with the same stunning menu, plus pacific oysters on arrival and petite fours to finish. The Wickham is really putting on a show this New Year’s Eve in Brisbane, with balloon drops, confetti cannons, roving performers, fireworks on the big screen, and DJs to send you into 2015. This New Year’s Eve party will have a black and gold theme (if there’s a night of the year where you can get away with wearing gold, this is it). The Wickham’s party package includes canapés, Piper Heidsieck Champagne, spirits, wine, and beer, and both the beer garden and the upstairs nightclub will be going off.

Soleil Pool Bar
Trust uber-chic new bar, Soleil to take New Year’s Eve and make it next level. Their New Year’s Eve event has a St Tropez (think beachside glamour, super yachts, and playground to the rich and famous) theme, an epic six-hour premium drinks package (including Moet, Patron, Belvedere Vodka, Havana Club, and more), a French Riviera-approved menu (think freshly shucked oysters, cheeses, charcuterie, and a dessert suite) and a beach bar with real sand. You can even get your picture taken with an exotic bird (crazy!). We told you it was next level! DJs and live acts including fire dancers and synchronised swimmers, plus the swarm of bronzed bodies, adds to the luxe party vibe.

Sake are throwing a totally kawaii Harajuku Pop Up New Year’s Eve event this year. There will be a special Izakaya bar menu, Japanese cocktails, DJs, Harajuku girls, and entry is free! Or, if you’d rather something more substantial, you can enjoy a relaxed a la carte dinner or choose between two gorgeous banquets before the fireworks kick off.

Bavarian Bier Café
Ring in 2015 to cries of ‘Proust!’ and plates of pork knuckle at Bavarian Bier Café this New Year’s Eve in Brisbane. One of The Valley’s hottest new bar offerings, Woolly Mammoth, is throwing one heck of a bash this NYE, hosting two hemisphere’s worth of fun at their Hunters & Gatherers party, including a tropical garden party upstairs in the Garden Bar, and a way-chilled snowed-in Alehouse party downstairs. Guests to this furry New Year’s event have the option to purchase a 3-hour drinks package for $75, which includes Mammoth Lager, cocktails, and house vodka and rum. Up On Constance
New Year’s Eve is all about the view, and Up on Constance, sitting pretty on top of the new Tryp Hotel, has a great one. This funky rooftop bar is going to be going off this New Years, with a three-hour premium food and beverage package, canapés, and live music and DJs all night. You can forget about the hellish hunt for a cab when the party’s over and make a night of it at Tryp for only $239.

South Bank Surf Club
The always-entertaining South Bank Surf Club is hosting a Hawaiian-themed Luau New Year’s Eve party. Think pig-on-the-spit, Hawaiian canapés, and plenty of leis. A cocktail on arrival and great views of the fireworks will have you doing the hula.

Brisbane NYE Retro Ball
Party for a good cause at this year’s Brisbane New Year’s Eve Retro Ball—a retro-themed bash with ticket proceeds going to help the Down Syndrome Association of Queensland. Dodge ‘em cars, DJs, prizes for best dressed, and food by the award-winning Brent’s restaurant team are sure to make this one of the best New Year’s Eve parties in town!

If you’re looking for a chilled-out Brisbane New Year’s Eve option, The Embassy’s your guy. This CBD gastro pub is open until 2am for dinner and celebratory beers, and will be keeping the tunes pumping all night long.
The Euro has a stunning four-course New Year’s Eve feast on offer, which includes a glass of Moet on arrival, and lashings of The Euro’s signature Spanish fare. Think Bangalow pork shoulder with fermented apple puree, and chocolate and cognac marquis—let’s hope you eat this well in 2015!

Cove Bar and Dining
Home to some of Brisbane’s best champagne, it’s no surprise Cove are throwing one heck of a fizzy New Year’s Eve bash. The liquid courage will be flowing, the canapés will keep on coming, and the fireworks will be going off right in front of you. There will also be live magic, and DJ Coolhand Luke will be on the decks.

Boundary Street Markets
Anything that bills itself as a mega-party is surely worthy of being your chosen NYE event, right? The Boundary Street Markets are already very well versed in throwing a party, so their Big Chill Festival comes as no surprise. With world-class music over 3 big stages—namely The Motor Room (soul and roots), The Market Stage (world/blues), and The Factory One Stage (rap/trap)—as well as live art, street food, vintage and artisan markets, an urban beach and tiki bar, plus heaps more, this is one NYE party for the history books.

Station Road Dining
The fab-u-lous Indooroopilly dining precinct, Station Road Dining, has a host of New Year’s Eve events to choose from this year:
Cape-Cod style restaurant and bar, Nantucket are hosting a New-York-themed NYE bash, with two events to choose from: an early sit-down, a la carte dinner; or a cocktail party until the wee hours, with endless bottles of Veuve, beers, and wines, plus canapés themed around the districts of New York.
Harajuku Gyoza are also open for dinner, drinks, and all the usual Japanese revelry we love about this happy Brisbane dumpling joint. Expect much yelling and overflowing of sake glasses—a great option for a casual New Year’s with friends. They serve beer slushies, and fried, Nutella-filled gyoza. Need we say more. (Hot tip: their Fortitude Valley venue is also open this New Year’s Eve.)
The Mero Kitchen & Bar—one of our favourite new Brisbane restaurants for relaxed Italian—is open until late this New Year’s Eve at Station Road. The Mero’s ample share plates, wood-fired pizza, and antipasto are perfect for sharing with friends over a vino or three.
And the Pig ‘N’ Whistle will be going off, with Brisbane band Love Cats providing the evening’s entertainment, and a great pub meal on offer from 5pm.
Lennons Restaurant & Bar at NEXT Hotel
If you’re looking for a swanky event this New Year’s in Brisbane, look no further than the brand new NEXT Hotel, who have two very swish options to choose from. If you want to go the whole hog, their dinner and after-party package includes dinner at the fab’ Lennons Restaurant, a six-hour drinks package, and entry to the after party on the pool deck, where DJs and fireworks will keep you entertained. Or you can opt out of dinner and just hit up the after-party, where the champagne will be flowing. Come bed time, if you’d rather not brave the cab lines and fancy catching an elevator home, NEXT are also offering a deluxe room-and-party package. Because fluffy robes and buffet breakfasts are the only way to start a new year.

Watt Restaurant + Bar
Throw on your sparkliest sequins and bring out your feathered headdress; Watt Restaurant + Bar are putting on a Caribbean Carnival to end the year with a bang. Kick it back into ‘island time’, with Caribbean themed cocktails, roaming performers and acrobats, plus DJ Luc providing the beats into the night. Choose from a delicious canapé package or an indulgent 5-course dinner package, and then shake what your mama gave you into 2015!

If you’re in the market for a sit-down bash, the lab bar + restaurant have two separate NYE sittings, and three menu options to choose from. Our pick is the five-course degustation with matched wines and a cheeky glass of Moet on arrival. Bookings are essential.
Or Channel your inner Grace Kelly or Cary Grant at The Kitty’s silver screen sirens New Year’s Eve event. Themed in black, white and red, this will be one epic night of high-glamour and old-school cool.
