Some things just go together, like PB and jelly, and Posh and Becks, so this year we’ve teamed up with MINI to bring you, our discerning readers and drivers, our fortnightly MINI Fave 5 series: The must-try guide to Brisbane, celebrating the launch of the new MINI 5-door hatch!
SO WHO'S ON OUR HIT LIST OF BRISBANE'S BEST BEER GARDENS?
Summer is once again upon us, and the nightclub dance floors around Brisbane have turned into saunas, leaving us with perhaps a more preferable choice: the beer garden.
A light breeze on a patio strewn with fairy lights is the epitome of summer, and there’s nothing more satisfying than sipping on a cold brew while catching up with friends in the vicinity of greenery. So, where to turn for your first beer garden escapade of the summer? Here are our fave 5 beer gardens in Brisbane.
The courtyard at Regatta Hotel is probably the first place you think of when traipsing away from your desk on a Friday afternoon, and for good reason. The modern outdoor area of the iconic Regatta has a solid set of beers on tap and a fresh and shiny new summer menu.
Burgers, beats and brews are what The Bleachers could have their doctorate in. With a rotating ring of impressive DJ’s spinning fresh sounds and burgers (Ben’s) served on lunch trays, there are few better places you could find yourself with a beer in hand. Monday nights are particularly magical (and inexpensive) and soft serves of flavourful varieties flow freely. Beer spider anyone?
The atmospheric back garden of Lock'n’Load can be attributed to it’s loyal regulars, live music and brilliant beer. Kid-friendly and decked-out with greenery, the bistro blends in perfectly with the bohemian suburb and is the perfect escape for dinner on a hot summer night.
Fitz + Potts
Nundah local’s had their prayers answered this October, with the opening of Fitz + Potts, part retro beer garden, part exquisite jaffle maker. The faux-grass rooftop, finished with a bamboo bar and littered with colourful 70’s style decor is made for a Brisbane summer. All the craft beers and wines are locally sourced and Australian-made which are best enjoyed while watching the sun set from the rooftop.
The Burrow is the destination for those wanting to expand their beer repertoire, with a seemingly endless array of fine brews. The beer garden is strewn with bunting and large picnic table seating, so there’s no excuse not to invite all your friends to share an afternoon of beer drinking and pizza eating.
We're thrilled to partner with MINI to bring you our Fave 5 series—our fortnightly guide to the best of the best in Brisbane. From food to fashion, Campari to Crossfit, each Fave 5 edition is researched and recommended by The Urban List, and driven by the new MINI 5-Door Hatch—putting the city at your fingertips and giving you the freedom to explore it!
