Guys, we’ve fiiiiiiinally found a reason to leave the couch this winter and it involves delicious eats, sick beats, and all of the lights. Yep, that's right, Brisbane’s Festival of Lights is back for 2018 and we’re ready to jump into the car right now to nab our front row seats.
For three nights only (AKA Thursday 2 August - Saturday 4 August), our mates at the oh-so fancy Westfield Chermside will be putting on their impressive lights show once again, to brighten up our lives and winter. There’ll be fireworks, DJs, roaming entertainment, digital installations AND light projections, plus plenty of glow sticks and face painting for the kids (or kidults).
The food options are endless! Craving a burger? Try Grill’d, Beach House or Betty’s Burgers. In the mood for Mexican? Look no further than Guzman y Gomez. Want something a little more adventurous? Enjoy some American eats from Bootlegger, South American fare at Fiery Deli, tapas at Hermosa, or enjoy some Asian fusion at Motto Motto or Kinn + Derm. There's something for everyone so you won't go hungry.
Wash it all down with post-fireworks beers at The Sporting Globe and don't forget to fix your palate with some sweetness and make your way to San Churro or Gelatissimo for dessert.
You’ll find us bar crawling our way from Tapworks to The Bavarian before the fireworks at 7:05pm, then stuffing ourselves silly with every Italian dish in sight at Casa Cibo. Just in case you were interested...
Plan your night, suss out your dinner and get all the deets here.
When: Thursday 2 August - Saturday 4 August at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.
Where: Westfield Chermside
Cost: The light show is completely free!
