Friday Night Knock-Offs at Kettle & Tin

Our favourite night of the week, Friday, has unfortunately undergone somewhat of a negative reputation shift of late. What was once a great opportunity to catch up after work with friends and those select few co workers you can actually stand, while you fend off the fast-approaching work week has, unfortunately, become associated with long lines to the bar, rowdy crowds, and, worse yet, bad drinks.

But, no more! We've discovered the perfect Friday drinks spot, and there's not a rowdy bod in sight. Paddington's Kettle & Tin has long been one of our fave brekky joints (seriously, try their dark chocolate and orange waffles) but since this little Queenslander has started doing drinks of an evening, it has really cemented its place in our hearts. With a courtyard ideal for sitting and sipping in the afternoon sun, should you be lucky enough to knock off early, there's basically nowhere we'd rather be for an after work tipple.

We love a venue that has a relaxed take on serious cocktails, and Kettle & Tin certainly fits the bill. The gang at Kettle & Tin have taken on the challenge of creating Brisbane's best Bloody Mary's with vigour, and they have loads of iterations of this cocktail to end all cocktails. They can also mix, shake, and stir up any of the classics —think perfect martinis, rum cocktails, and bellinis.

There are, of course, all your favourite boutique beers on offer, as well as a cracker wine list if you're partial to the grape juice.

While you're drinking, you will invariably want some chow to accompany, and, luckily, Kettle & Tin have the food thing well and truly covered. Their share plate selection is perfect to accompany Friday drinks, and comes in small, medium, and large offerings, perfect for every group size.

Our picks of the plates has to include the pork belly fries, but we're also nuts about the confit duck nachos and Chinese BBQ wings.

Well, what are you waiting for? Get a crew together, skip the lines at the bar, and head to K&T this Friday night.
