Glass Island

It’s time to bust out your captain’s hat team because there’s a boat party heading for the Brisbane River—ahoy! The gleaming Glass Island is dropping anchor in Brisbane sometime at the end of autumn, and here’s everything you need to know right now.

Another luxe floating bar from the creators of Seadeck, this three-level glass-walled boat gives off serious beach club vibes. A trip down the Brisbane River aboard the vessel will feel as though you’re sailing through the Mediterranean, and we’re totally okay with that.

Of the three levels, the top deck is where you’ll probably want to be. With deep lounges shaded by red umbrellas, it offers uninterrupted views of the waterways, the best kind of backdrop to cocktails. But if those river breezes have you feeling chilly, you can retreat to the middle deck, where you’ll find a seven metre long bar and plenty of lounges completely surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass—for all the views but none of the exposure to the elements. Still not feeling it? One more level down is where you’ll find a chilled champagne and cocktail lounge.

Let’s be honest, there’s nothing like streaming sunshine, plush daybeds and an espresso martini in hand to make you feel totally extra, not to mention grazing on refined bar snacks like cheese plates and flatbread pizzas, listening to live entertainment and enjoying first-class service, complete with uninterrupted skyline views.

As for what this VIP lifestyle will set you back? General admission tickets start at just $35—budget ballers, you’ll want to jump on this one as soon as they come online Feeling fancy? Go all out with their VIP package including hosted bottle service for the squad.

Exact dates have yet to be announced, but Glass Island will be heading our way as soon as their current Sydney season wraps up on 5 April. For more details and to keep up to date, head to their website
