We first heard about King Somm back in August 2018, but this week news of the Bayswater wine bar got a whole lot more exciting thanks to the addition of a pizzeria next door.
Jane Dough and King Somm will be swinging open their doors at the end of the month which will mean Bayswater residents will never have to leave… and the parking situation on leafy King William Street is about to get a whole lot more crowded. In the name of sourdough pizza and boutique wine, we say bring it on.
King Somm will be home to boutique wines, craft beer and spirits that you’ll be able to enjoy at the bar or purchase and take home with you, and you’ll be able to do the same with the pizza next door. So whether it’s a refined night of wine and pizza at the bar or some Netflix and chill time on the couch, pizza nights have never looked so good.
With the fit out headed up by Robeson Architects, King Somm’s heritage listed boutique wine bar and store was once home to a Billiard Saloon and we’ve been assured the fit out includes restoration work as well as upgrades to the building. In other words, it’s going to look schmick.
There’ll be over 300 wine labels, eight craft beers and a concise cocktail list, plus the space will host regular wine education and meet the maker events. The end of the month can’t come soon enough.
Feeling impatient? Here are all the new openings in Perth to check out this month.
