Inglewood locals have been eagerly awaiting the unveiling of Ninth and Merchant, taking over the prominent Beaufort Street corner where Miss Kitty’s Saloon previously held residence. It’s the latest venture from chef Navarre Top and restaurant manager Nathan McQuade, owners of North Perth’s Blake Street Merchant, and they’re all set for a grand opening on Thursday this week.
With an initial focus on breakfast and lunch, the menu will feature well-known and loved favourites with a twist of intrigue; not your stock-standard brunch menu. Five Senses coffee will be brewing, and if you’re in the mood for something a little stronger with lunch there’ll be a solid selection of craft beers on tap, and a very decent wine list.
Dinner service will commence in January 2019, making good use of the previous owner’s woodfired pizza oven with hearty dishes like legs of lamb, and wood roasted whole eggplants. The larger dishes will be complemented by communal share plates and snacks, and of course, their infamous freshly baked sourdough.
