Whether you’re designated driver, pregnant, doing dry July or just not as much of a boozehound as your mates, here are 15 of Perth’s best mocktails to quench your thirst, sans hangover.
Our favourite Mexican bar is whipping up three delicious mocktails. There's the Berry Big TEAse made with Dilmah berry tea syrup, fresh lemon juice and pink grapefruit soda, the Lime Yours with apple and lime juice, habanero lime syrup and soda water, and the Shake Your Fruity Coconuts whipped up with house-made verdita, lemon juice, agave nectar, coconut puree and pinch of salt to top it off.
The Stables Bar
Not only serving up delicious food, The Stables is also shaking some pretty neat mocktails. The Blue Mule is loaded with apple, blueberry, lime and ginger beer and the Passionate Affair is all kinds of delicious with passionfruit, mango, white chocolate and coconut.
The Flour Factory
Seedlip is the ingenious alcohol-free gin alternative and The Flour Factory is making the most of the entire collection. The Groovin The Mule features Seedlip Grove (a zesty, citrus blend), along with lime, ginger beer and mint and the Space Jam makes the most of Seedlip Spice with blackberry, grapefruit and lemon. Our top pick? The Booch Ya Bottom Dollar with Seedlip Garden, lemon, sugar and passionfruit kombucha.
Market Grounds is also no stranger to the delights of Seedlip. Their Pink Jasmine, Spring Thing and Winter Spice mocktails are going for just $10 during Dry July.
The crew at Bar Lafayette are mocktail legends with not one, not two, but three “faux cocktails” up for grabs. We love the Immaculate Mojito with fresh mint and lime and topped up with Granny Smith apple juice, as well as the Kokorico with fresh basil, bitters and coconut with loads of ice, orange and pineapple juice.
Bathers Beach House
Blueberry No-jito at Bathers Beach House is uber refreshing—made with blueberries, mint, lime, blueberry syrup and soda water. These guys also serve a winning mocktail with raspberries, strawberry syrup, lime and apple juice dubbed the Berry Fields.
Varnish On King
Varnish's bacon and whiskey flights are hard to resist, but we're pretty sure they'll serve their mocktails with a side of the crispy stuff if you ask nicely. Either way, their Candy's Apples mocktail with apple, mint and blood orange syrup will satisfy. As will the Tropical Oasis complete with pineapple shrub, orange, honey and ginger syrup.
Hula Bula Bar
The Hawaiian good times can still continue even when you’re doing dry July because Hula Bula Bar serves two winning cocktails. There’s the Spongebob—a giant guava and passionfruit smoothie with coconut—and the Pink Panther—passionfruit, pineapple, lime and grenadine. Both $10!
The Raffles has got all of the mocktails. From their Virgin Pina Colada and their Apple Pie Sour to their Black Walnut and Berry Blast to their Virgin Mojito, your dry nights are sorted.
Duende totally has your sober ass covered with their poached pear and cardamom charger—cardamom sweetened pear muddled with fresh pear and charged with dry ginger ale. There’s also a strawberry basil cooler up for grabs—house-made lemonade with fresh basil.
Your mates won't even know you're not drinking when you order the Zest Is Best mocktail at Goody Two's. This dingy drink features yuzu, elderflower, fresh grapefruit and soda. They're also slinging A Good Buck with pineapple, orgeat, lime, ginger beer and mint and the Rai-chi Tonic with Dilmah black tea, lychee, lime and tonic.
Hylin Back Bar
The absolute legends at Hylin Back Bar well and truly have your non-alcoholic needs covered, with a complete section of their drinks menu dedicated to booze-free enjoyment. Think fresh Seedlip mocktails, plus alcohol-free beer, soft drinks and a delicious Ginless ‘n’ Tonic.
If a strawberry shrub mixed with lemon, aloe and cranberry sounds good to you you're going to want to order the Strawberry Fields mocktail from The Reveley.
Every single cocktail at Hadiqa can be whipped up as a non-alcoholic counterpart. They're also serving house-made bottled iced teas for your booze-free nights out.
Jack Rabbit Slims
The shakes at Jack Rabbit Slims aren’t just for the booze hounds of Perth, they’ve got plenty of virgin goodness to go around. Whether it’s the peanut butter, salted caramel or good old spearmint you can’t go wrong.
