If you’ve got a special celebration coming up, are sick and tired of hosting dinner parties or just bored of regular dinners out, you’ve come to the right place! Perth is home to some unique dining options with everything from chef’s coming to cook you a meal in your own home to pop-up dining experiences, food tours and private dining rooms.
Here are some of Perth’s best secret dinner clubs.
Chef De Home
Hosting dinner parties in the comfort of your own home is awesome—you don’t have to worry about who’s going to be designated driver, you can have conversations without shouting and when you’ve eaten too much, you can all recline on the couch and unbutton your jeans without worrying what anyone else thinks. But, the stress of shopping, cooking, cleaning and making sure everyone’s glasses are topped up throughout the night can sometimes outweigh the fun of getting together with your besties. Enter Chef de Home! Imagine an amazing chef cooking an incredible three-course meal in your home, waiters delivering said meals to your table and leaving the kitchen cleaner than it was when they arrived. Dinner party heaven? We think so!
Fervor
One of the coolest new dining experiences to come out of our fair State, Fervor celebrates everything that’s good about Western Australia. Pop-up dining you can take just about anywhere on the west-side, Fervor uses fresh and local produce to create delicious and beautiful meals using all kinds of cooking techniques—blowtorch included. Ever wanted to host a dinner party in the pindan red dirt of the Pilbara or among the limestone rocks in the Pinnacles? Fervor are your guys! If you just want to experience what it’s all about you can book into one of Fervor’s already planned events which are held year-round.
Foodloose Tour
If deciding on a place to go for dinner is a total buzzkill, why not try a Foodloose Tour and sample some of Perth’s best food and drink on foot. Foodloose run evening tours in Northbridge and Perth (as well as day tours in Fremantle), with select tours specialising in international and Asian cuisine. Tours run for several hours and include a witty tour-guide who’s well versed on the food and culture of the area. You’ll have to bring a little extra cash to sample some tasty eats, but it won’t break the bank.
Stranger Danger Dinners
If you’re totes ready to get your dinner party on but friends are hard to find, sign yourself up to Stranger Danger Dinners on Facebook and await your invite. At the end of the night you’ll either have seven new besties or a few stalkers to worry about, but at least you’ll get to dinner party it up in style at one of Perth’s best restaurants. Find out what happened when our writer, Sarah, went on a Stranger Danger Dinner.
Secret Supper Club
If you're the kind of person who thinks variety is the spice of life, you'll want to follow the Secret Supper Club on Facebook or Instagram so you can see what they're up to next. They've hosted dinners underground, in art galleries, at the beach, and even in an orchard, so you're guaranteed some beautiful surroundings to keep your Insta looking sharp. And while the setting is important, the food is the star of the show. Each supper has a different theme from 'the secret life of bees' to a completely plant based and gluten free supper. Chefs from Perth’s best kitchens are invited to cook for the events and the proof is in the truffled, foamed, foraged, pickled and scorched pudding.
