The Globe, one of Perth’s oldest remaining hotel/bars in Perth, will reopen its doors on Monday and we could not be more excited!
Once the historic entry statement to the City of Perth, The Globe is now at home amongst the vibrant 140 precinct, backing onto Globe Lane and overlooking the soon to be competed Yagan’s Square on Wellington Street.
A multi venue space, the new Globe spreads across the historic Globe Hotel and Bairds Building creating three unique areas—the bar, eatery and lane.
Punters can expect colonial charm, merged with modern interior design, industrial exposed and raw finishes with vintage colours and tiles. Grand wall murals designed by renowned Perth aerosol artist Jerome Davenport pay homage to the buildings’ past. The venue also embraces Perth’s awesome weather with a large courtyard and laneway lounge which is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine and the urban laneways of 140.
The Globe have teamed up with respected Executive Chef Graham Arthur who has worked in some of Perth’s top restaurants including E Cucina and Balthazar and most recently was part owner of Il Lido Italian Canteen, Gordon St Garage and Duende. "Our Head Chef Alexandra Haynes, and I have invented a unique menu for each space using fresh, seasonal, boutique ingredients. Think roasted pork belly, apple, fennel and cucumber coleslaw with pickled green tomato in the bar, cheese plates and crab eclairs in the lane and a range of share plates including pickled carrots, radish, whipped cream and radicchio in the eatery," Graham said.
The drinks list will be updated seasonally to reflect the changing food menu. 2014’s Gourmet Traveler Sommelier of the Year Jeremy Prus has designed the wine list and Italian Mixologist and Assistant Manager Riccardo Dal Molin brings an international flavour to the cocktails—think Tuscan smoked negroni’s and Tequila mixed with homemade rosemary syrup and grapefruit ice cubes. YUM! There will also be over 25 beers on tap ranging from international brands like Lefe to local boutique offerings from Eagle Bay Brewery.
