Natural wine has taken over bottle shops and liquor cabinets around Sydney, and now it’s taking over Bondi’s much-loved Porch and Parlour for an epic one-night-only event.
Put together by the natural wine heroes at Not Wasted and Porch and Parlour, special guest winemaker Alice L’Estrange from Cultivar will be hosting this beachside tasting. Expect to taste a set of far-out naked wines from Chile, while L’Estrange soundtracks the evening with the stories behind the wines and the places they come from.
If that wasn’t enough, canapes and a two-course meal will be served to you and your mates, so those wines won’t go to an empty stomach. The vegetarian menu includes a cheese course, and things like polenta chips with truffle mayo and stuffed courgettes with spiced rice, pomegranate and tahini dressing.
If you’re worried about missing out on this natty wine takeover, don’t stress. Owner of Porch and Parlour Sammy Smith has confirmed this event will kick off a new happy hour of sorts, called Porch Sundowners. “We will be offering a selection of natural wines and aperitives from 4-8 from Friday to Sunday,” he says. So you can go back for your favourite wines, plus ocean views, time and time again.
