The Sydney Fish Market Is Moving

Sydney Fish Markets

The Sydney Fish Market is moving— but do not freak out! We repeat, do not freak out because when one fish market closes, what happens? You get a brand new, supersized fished market! Or so we are told.

For as long as any of us can remember, seeing as the original Pyrmont location has been around twice as long as any of us have been alive #GenYRepresent, the fish market is where you go for all your seafood needs, your BYO needs and whenever you feel like having a battle to the death with a seagull. So it’s fair to say that we hold it pretty close to our seafood loving hearts.

Thankfully so does the good ol’ NSW government who have just announced a huge $250 million dollar plan to move it, wait for it, right next door!

We’re also told there are plans for more restaurants, a boardwalk to stroll off those seafood food comas and maybe, just maybe, a rooftop bar (we’ll start praying for that one now).

So watch this space guys, the revamp is set for some time in 2018, with the new digs open to the public in 2020.

But like we said at the beginning, this is no time for freak outs, with the original markets open throughout the renos for your seafood fix.
