Missed your chance to nab a selfie inside a giant birthday cake when Sugar Republic landed in Brisbane last year? Well now is your chance to finally make up for lost opportunities, because the sugary museum is heading for the Gold Coast this winter.
This incredible pop-up Insta-museum is dedicated to the celebration of ice cream, lollies and all things sweet through a series of amazing sensory rooms.
Almost 100,000 sugar-loving people have visited since it launched a year ago, and now the Gold Coast is the sweet-spot, boasting incredible new installations and visual eye-candy to excite the senses.
Taking over Pacific Fair Shopping Centre from 30 June to 28 July, Sugar Republic Gold Coast will take you on a nostalgic journey across three candy-filled spaces.
At The Resort you’ll sink into a bubble gum ball pit, visit the candy-coloured balloonerie and relax with a soft serve ice cream covered in sprinkles whilst listening to a 50s sugar-inspired playlist.
Next, stop by the Selfie Store to relive your teenage years, posing with neon art, tinstallations, mini mart art and 80s-inspired selfie art walls. Devour freshly-made fairy floss in the Sweet Dreams bedroom before exploring three surprise-filled changing rooms.
Finally, it’s time to hit Candyland, a giant factory-like pink space rising out from the car park. Here, you’ll relive your childhood sugar highs as you jump into a huge sprinkles ball pit, jump out of the iconic giant birthday cake, take a confetti shower, dance inside a human-sized gumball machine, play licorice tic tac toe, swing inside a popcorn box, snuggle up in the Honey Bear room, sink into the Big Gum Bubble and enjoy the sweetest wall art.
Tickets will set you back $35 but if you ask us, that’s a small price to pay for a sugar wonderland and weeks work of Insta content.
We’ll see you by the candy bar!
