Beat the Winter Blues with Lunch at The Jetty

By Sophia McMeekin - 23 Jul 2013

We'd all like to be able to jet off to Bali at the drop of a hat when the winter blues start to get us down, but, sadly, this holiday dream is not always a realistic option.

That's why The Jetty South Bank—perched beside the river with stunning city views, with its chilled Balinese vibe, comfortable day beds (ideal for relaxing in the winter sun) and natural timber and stone interior adding to the island atmosphere—is the ideal winter lunch escape.

The contemporary menu combines the freshest Queensland produce with the tastes and style of Asian cuisine and, for the whole of winter, The Jetty are putting on a winter lunch special to entice you out of the office into Balinese heaven. You can choose between two divine main courses, a nasi goreng with Indonesian fried rice, satay chicken drumsticks, or lamb shoulder, slow-cooked in a hearty red wine and tomato with soft white polenta and parmesan crumbs, and two fantastic Western Australian wines. And, for this special winter season, a main and glass of wine will only cost you $25!

If you do want to partake in one of The Jetty's fab' entrees or desserts, the staff will gladly oblige. Our pick of the entrée line up has to include the Szechwan peppered calamari with fresh lime, and the rice paper rolls with char sui pork, shrimp, and red chilli nahm jim.

Dessert-wise, The Jetty South Bank will not leave you wanting. Their spiced apple and rhubarb oat and nut crumble is the perfect winter meal's end. And we hear very good things about the gooey dark chocolate pudding with peanut butter ice cream (yum!).

The Jetty's divine lunch-time offering is only on until the end of August, so make plans to head to this breezy Balinese retreat before you miss out.
