You asked us to track down the best of the best bars, pubs, cafes, and general cool stuff out of the CBD. And when you ask, dear reader, we hop to it. This time around we headed to the northside and found you Phoenix, an urban oasis in the 'burbs.
Phoenix is a bar and restaurant, bringing everything you love about inner city dining and drinking to the suburbs. We all love our local, but when your local has a designer cocktail menu that features Patron and Ketel One creations; a delish assortment of share plates including duck cigars, pulled pork sliders, and soft shell tacos; and an enviable wine list, with Penfolds Grange, Henschke Hill of Grace, and premium Wolf Blass wines gracing the list, you tend to love it that much more. Did we mention the house champagne is Moet? Pretty schmick!
And, alongside the big names, the gang at Phoenix are also proud supporters of local producers. Their bespoke coffee comes from local roaster, Cleanskin Coffee at Brendale, and they serve the cutest cookies out, courtesy of Bite My Biscuit in Geebung.
Phoenix also boasts an outdoor dining space with booth-style seating and sexy mood lighting—great for mingling. It's not surprising this space has been welcomed by northsiders with open arms. Now a great night out doesn't have to mean a trek into the CBD. And that means you can spend your cab fare on cocktails. Win!
Phoenix is officially launching with a special VIP night this Friday, and is open Monday to Thursday from 3pm and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am (and, best of all—because we love us some late night dining—the kitchen stays open until 10pm).
