Brisbane libraries closed

As much as we all love a good Netflix binge, you get over it pretty fast when it’s your only source of entertainment for days on end.

Brisbane's libraries may be closed, but thankfully, the Brisbane City Council's online library catalogue is packed full of resources to help you stave off boredom while you’re cooped up at home.

By signing up for a temporary digital library membership (or using your current membership if you’ve got one), you can gain access to over 150,000 online resources, including magazines, music, eBooks and even language apps.

But the best part of the library catalogue has to be their audiobooks. Listen while you cook, clean, garden, exercise, whatever—audiobooks are just as mobile as you are. Our recommendation? Check out Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton, an international bestseller that’s based right here in the River City.

If you simply can’t tear yourself away from Netflix, check out the library’s streaming platform, Kanopy, which hosts over 30,000 movies and documentaries.

Signing up to the library site is super easy and completely free, so you might as well check out what they have to offer. Register here for a temporary digital membership, a.k.a. your all-access pass to bucketloads of entertainment. You can thank us later.
