Brisbane’s Best Gin and Tonics

By Rachel Lay

Given London has just launched an official gin trail, we thought it was only fair that Brisbane gets one too. So we’ve scoured Brisbane to hunt down the best G&Ts this fine city has to offer.

Dutch Courage Officer's Mess

Fortitude Valley

Given that gin inspired the whole ‘Dutch courage’ thing, it seems fitting that a place sort-of dedicated to gin would be named as such. There are over 100 kinds of gin on offer here, so you know your G&T will on point.

West End

Bosc have nailed the humble G&T so well they’ve moved on to an extensive list of gin based cocktails. Oh, and they also donate a percentage of the profits to an orphanage in Mexico so you’re kind of a bad person if you don’t stop for a drink here…

John Mills Himself

John Mills Himself is all about keeping things local, so your G&T may love Brisbane more than we do.

The Bearded Lady

West End

A G&T with cucumber or lime, BYO food, and super friendly staff in a great atmosphere makes perfect. Thanks Bearded Lady

Libertine Bar

Petrie Terrace

Inspired by the era where gin was at almost epidemic levels, Libertine knows their gin. As well as the perfect G&T they also do a mean gin based cocktail like the Libertini.

The Laneway

The Laneway is all about your drinking being an experience, so you know your G&T will be nothing like the rest. Plus, Laneway is the love child of Urbane, so you know it’s gonna be one fancy G&T.

Sometimes you want a G&T with your breakfast, and Canvas is just the place for that. They love gin so much they have a whole bunch of gin cocktails too.
