They’re the movies you know off by heart, but will still happily watch over and over again (no matter how old you are), and now Disney’s magical collection of flicks is heading to the big screen once again, with Openair Cinemas bringing a drive-in movie theatre to Northshore.

Popping up in the carpark next to the Brisbane Cruise Terminal, the pop-up is dedicated entirely to Disney movies, with a program that includes the likes of childhood animated faves Aladdin, Lady And The Tramp and 101 Dalmations, newer sing-a-longs like Moana and Frozen, and a few more grown-up classics like 10 Things I Hate About You and The Greatest Showman. And yes, there are Star Wars and Avengers movies thrown into the mix to.

Kicking off on Thursday 17 September, the drive-in will be running until Sunday 18 October, with showings on most nights of the week. There’s a kiosk on site with popcorn and snacks, or you can just bring your own food and drinks (strictly no booze). You do need to stay near your car, but you can hop out and chill on the bonnet (or the tray of a ute), if you prefer, and you can even bring-along your four-legged friends.

Just so you’re aware, the sound will run through FM radio, so you’ll need to be able to run your radio without turning the ignition on, otherwise bring along a portable radio (shout out to everyone who has to keep their car running everytime they want to hear the end of a song…).

You can check out the full line-up of movies and grab your tickets here—prices start at $42.53 for a single film for two people, or $52.75 for three people or more. Doing a double feature? You’ll be looking at $73.74 or $84.51. Sure, you could stay home and binge them on Disney+, but really—isn’t it about time you got off the couch?
