Joining sister venues Sichuan Bang Bang and Pizzeria Violetta on Wongabel Street, Stavros the Greek is poised to seduce the suburb into full-belly bliss. Theirs is a microcosmic glimpse into the pleasures of Aegean living, where languid dining is prized and garlic is its own food group.
The third pillar of Renata Roberts’ burgeoning dining empire promises classic and generous Greek feasts, with charcoal-grilled meats, shareable mezze plates, and some of the best souvlaki and yiros in the southern hemisphere. (We’re not joking around here, between the fluffy bread and the smoky char, Stavros’ yiros are the perfect moreish parcel to hustle you out of a bad mood.)
If you have trouble choosing, we definitely recommend ordering the Stavros feast for the whole table. It’ll take you on a multi-platter caper through the best of Stavros’ main menu from their housemade dips and pita, to the refreshing watermelon salad, to the succulent lamb shoulder.
Rounding out the Mediterranean paradise is Stavros’ adjacent Sunset Bar, serving up cocktails and pre-dinner drinks to put you in good stead for the repast.
