You know summer’s just around the corner when all conversations rotate in an infinite loop of asking mates for frozen margs recipes, and whether should you get the inflatable flamingo or monstera pool float this year. These are important topics. We’re right there with you.
You know when summer’s also around the corner? When one of the biggest hotel chains in the world races to open its doors ahead of the Chrissy rush and green lit Brisbane’s first ever swim-up pool bar.
In big news for SEQ’s booming tourism industry and for anyone looking at a cheeky stay-cay option in the CBD, yet another hotel has chosen our little slice of paradise to call home; The Westin Brisbane has officially opened its doors this week on Mary St—and it’s gob-smacking.
In even bigger news though, this mammoth luxury hotel chain has upped the ‘best bar in Brisbane’ ante by casually dropping in an incredible swim-up pool atop their sun-soaked rooftop.
Nautilus resides right on the edge of the 300-square-metre swimming pool, featuring three-tiers where you can perch shoulder deep in the turquoise waters, sipping on a frostie while taking in some pretty breathtaking views of the city skyline.
The big question on everyone’s lips is if it’s open to us mere mortals (read: non-hotel guests). The answer is of course no. HOWEVER, The Westin crew know the drawcard of being the only hotel in a city with a swim-up bar where it often hits 100% humidity and plus-35 degrees, so are launching ticketed Sunday sessions for the general public come December.
Honestly, we’ve been doing this whole thing called life all wrong.
Check out (and check-in) The Westin Brisbane at 111 Mary Street, Brisbane CBD. What an entrance…
