Currently trading in the bustling hub of South Bank, Tippler’s Tap is best known for their rotating selection of local brews and Chicago-style street food. It’s the ultimate connection for hotdogs, sliders, and wings, and makes a really great nook for hunkering when the wind chill factor turns your fingers numb.
But they didn’t always used to be in a Southside haunt. Way back in the early days of courtship Tipple’s Tap hung their hat on the Northside, and they’re poised to make a grand return with the expansion of their operation into two restaurants.
Taking over the spot recently vacated by Freddie’s Taphouse, this second location will follow the example set by its South Bank sister and devote itself to showcasing the best of local craft beer. Foodwise, expect the same hearty glory from the South Bank digs, but with some cheeky deep-dish pizza thrown in. Is that a Brisbane first? GM Jimmy Hillsdon seems to think so.
But the most exciting aspect of the Tippler 2.0 is their foray into breakfast. Yep, that’s a Chicago street food-style breakfast menu and yes you need to try it. Tipped to feature is a reuben eggs benny, breakfast chilli, and chicken and waffles (natch).
Stay tuned for the exact date of opening, currently projected to be around mid-June, and in the meantime get your beer and hotdog fix at Tippler’s South Bank.
