Baby, it's cold outside. We've been feeling the winter chill in Brisbane and craving a sunny getaway like nobody's business. If you're ready to escape your cubicle and the daily drudgery of the public transport commute in the freezing morning temps, we have your escape plan.

Call you waxer, 'cause bikini season is back (and because it's not peak season, it's the perfect time of year to plan a last-minute mini break. Yipee!). Here are some last minute warm weather getaways that promise to bring the sunshine.

One&Only | Hayman Island QLD

Recently reopened after an $80 million refurbishment, One&Only has redefined luxury, pairing pure indulgence with astonishing natural beauty. You can shake off those winter blues by strolling along 2km of pristine white sandy beach, be adventurous with catamaran sailing and kayaking, or just laze by the pool sipping cocktails.

Fairshore Noosa | Noosa QLD

The Sunshine Coast is stunning this time of year. As the name suggests it's still drenched in sunshine, even in winter. Head to the Noosa Long Weekend (from the 18-27 July) for 10 days and nights of music, dance, theatre, literature and more. Base yourself at Fairshore Noosa, which is absolute beachfront luxury in the heart of the action of Hastings Street.

atMarina Shores | Airlie Beach QLD

You'll forget it's winter when you hit Airlie Beach. This laid-back town has some great hidden dining gems such as Mr Bones and Fat Frog Beach Café. And while you're here, check out Australia's biggest Rum Bar with over 450 Rum varieties in stock, at where else but the Rum Bar at Fish D'Vine. Ask 'Dr Rum' to make you a Hemmingway Daiquiri. atMarina Shores luxe apartments are close to the Marina, where you can board a yacht for a day of sailing or tour to Whitehaven Beach.

Winter weekend getaways Byron Bay

Dune | Port Douglas QLD

With a bunch of your mates, personal chef, private driver and concierge you're sure to be happy and chilled soaking up the sunshine at Dune Port Douglas, one of our fave winter getaway locations. This luxury holiday house accommodates 10 guests, and includes all breakfasts and gourmet lunches. Head out for more dining at Bucci Port Douglas and see how it compares to our Brisbane offshoot, and, after all this wining and dining, try a little adventure with Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours and swing through the treetops on a fully-guided ziplining tour.

Quiksilver Apartments | Byron Bay NSW

Surfs up at Byron Bay! Stay above the Quiksilver store right in the heart of Byron Bay and spend sunny days surfing, whale watching, or take a morning run up to Byron lighthouse for a spectacular sunrise at Australia's most eastern point. Head to Byron for your old trusty favourite cafes or restaurants (check out our Byron edits, onetwo, and three here!) or try newbies Cicchetti for contemporary Italian restaurant or Miss Margarita for Mexican cantina fun.
