What’s The Most Requested Celebrity Hair Style Right Now?

By Sophia McMeekin - 26 Aug 2014

Like the Farrah Fawcett, The Rachel, and The Gisele before them, when it comes to a new cut and colour, we like nothing more than taking our hair cues from the rich and famous (they do have the best hairdressers in the biz, after all).

But whose famous locks should we currently be coveting? Are Blake Lively's golden curls still making waves, or have Kate Middleton's glossy chocolate locks knocked her off her perch? To keep abreast of the follicular curve, we asked Brisbane's best hairdressers which celebrity hairstyle is the most requested right now. The results may surprise you…

The Miley Crop

The team at Epic Hair Designs have seen plenty of trends come and go — these guys are some of Brisbane's best colourists and are responsible for prettying up a LOT of heads in their four Brisbane hair salons — but recently have been bombarded with requests for short hair styles, particularly very textured crops with a longer fringe, a la Miley Cyrus.

She may be a naughty girl, but her short and sweet cut is practical and flattering. Able to be worn longer, or at the more punkish close-to-the-skull length, this cut suits all ages and is flattering to most face shapes (think Robin Wright's sleek crop in House of Cards).

Katrina from Epic Hair says, "this hairstyle is easy to style and has very minimal upkeep. As long you keep up the six week appointments, your style will remain sexy and full of style."

"This cut creates the sexy contrast between short and feminine."

The Lara Bingle Bob

One of Brisbane's best hairdressers, Luke Reynolds and his team not only expertly recreate celebrity styles for their clients, celebrities are their clients, so they really know what they're talking about when it comes to the most requested celebrity hairstyles.

Luke says the most asked for celebrity style at the moment is the Lara Bingle 'Lob', a geometric, deconstructed long bob.

Luke says this cut has taken off since Lara stepped out in it a few months ago, and is best suited to round or square faced ladies, like Miss Bingle herself.

"It's relaxed and supremely chic, all at once," says Luke. Take a cue from the buxom blonde and use a deep side part to soften the look.
