You’ve just looked at your calendar and realized it’s mid-December and suddenly all those promises you’ve made to organize that Christmas catch-up with your gal pals, golf mates or work buddies are starting to wear increasingly thin.

Should you admit defeat and the truth: you’re completely disorganized and have ballsed this up completely? Or just call the whole thing off, tail-between-legs?

Hell no! Because we’re here to save your bacon. We teamed up with the problem solving legends at Bingle. Here’s our list of the cool Brisbane bars and restaurants that are both festive as hell and don’t need a booking. Merry Christmas, from us.

Fitz + Potts

Fitz + Potts is the drinking spot to bring the crew to this Christmas season. With a whole heap of kitsch spaces to get festive in—there’s an outdoor beer garden, a relaxed bar area and a glitzy indoor seating perfect for rounds of cocktails—there’s any number of options for your party du jour. Hunger pangs are taken care of too with pickles, jaffles and olives on hand.

South Brisbane

New to Fish Lane in South Brisbane, SBC Bar has been created in the style of traditional beer hall. With a seasonal menu and convivial atmosphere this cool new venue will impress the mates with your knowledge of Brisbane’s latest openings.

Too Zero Bar

Northsiders rejoice! We’ve got you covered for everyone’s favourite things: wine and dessert! Award winning chef Mark Rowsell-Turner runs the kitchen at Too Zero, plating up sophisticated fare in the suburbs. Add in an extensive vino list and you’re cooking with gas.

South Brisbane

South Brisbane bar, Maker, is small and refined, so it’s better suited to that last minute Christmas date you’ve been meaning to make. Go on—ask them out! If all goes well you could be lining up a potential New Year’s Eve kiss. If all goes awry, you can console yourself with some of the most impressive artisan cocktails around.

Fortitude Valley

Our sweetheart Babs, aka newly opened Barbara Bar in the Valley is perfect for that Christmas drinks catch up that turns next level raucous. Start the night with local craft beers, move on to new school cocktails and if you’re still there when the DJ starts you’ll probably be needing shots.

Corbett & Claude

The fun vibe and long table in Corbett & Claude is made for end of year gatherings. Delicious pizzas, share plates and the option to build you own charcuterie board? Send us an invite too, please.

The Defiant Duck

The Defiant Duck’s menu is all it’s quacked up to be. Run by the connoisseurs that brought us Hatch and Co, Gerard’s Bistro and Laruche, The Defiant Duck’s menu has something to please everyone from vegetarians, to carnivores and the budget conscious foodie. Add 24 beers on tap and your Christmas catch up stress be gone!

Jamie's Italian

Jamie's Italian in Brisbane city is the designated home of the fab Aperol Summer Sessions this holiday season! Which means it's the place to grab a classic Aperol Spritz for $10 order an Itallian banquet and kick off a relaxing long Christmas lunch or dinner the right way.

Morning After

West End

When you want to indulge at your end of year gathering, but have no regrets the next day, it’s time to opt for a brunch or lunch meeting. The huge well-lit Morning After in West End can accommodate large groups and the menu centres on some mouthwatering Mediterranean meals like the sweet corn pakors and carbonara with smoked pancetta.
