The long-awaited Riley St Garage has rolled up its doors, revealing a sparkling new restaurant and bar.

Located at the Woolloomooloo end of Riley Street, the 200-seat restaurant draws inspiration from New York's Meatpacking District with a central Grand Bar and two distinct dining areas.

Housed within a converted 1910 industrial warehouse, the space retains elements of its mechanic past, whilst incorporating rich leathers, steel, brass and copper detailing.

From the team behind The Flying Squirrel and The Stuffed Beaver, the new venture will be headed up by chef Regan Porteous, previously of Gordon Ramsay's Maze London, Dubai and Hong Kong, and bar manager Bobby Carey of Shady Pines fame.

The modern-Australian menu centres around share plates, together with an incredible oyster bar. Not-to-be-missed menu offerings include: chorizo corndog with Dijon mayo; braised Fremantle octopus with white bean, lemon and chilli; Queensland Spanner crab risotto; and crispy pork knuckle with soy mustard and pickled apple. On to dessert, be sure to try the white chocolate, rhubarb panna cotta and the chocolate brownie with salted caramel and honeycomb.

The cocktail list spans a selection of Canadian and Irish whisky, craft beers, and creative twists on all the classics.
