Summer’s kicking off a little early this year with the inaugural Bondi Beachfest and this is one MASSIVE beach party not to be missed. With one mega legendary band headlining the day and a stellar line-up of uber-talented local artists, it’s going to be one of the best arvos by the beach you could ever have.

Inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame, when thinking of the best of pop, you can’t go past these guys. With Mike Love at the helm, these musical veterans are the definition of SoCal flare and with their jaw-dropping harmonies, they’ll be bringing the fun fun fun to our Aussie shores. With notable hits such as Barbara Ann, Surfin’ USA and Kokomo evoking memories of sun-kissed days by the surf, you’ll be picking up good vibrations all night.

The sounds of summer continue with an incredibly talented line-up of local heroes. Having reserved a spot on Triple J’s Hottest Australian Albums of All Time, The Whitlams, will ease you in to your Saturday arvo. If blues are your most played, then NSW surfer nomad, Kim Churchill’s lyrical wisdom should be next on your playlist. For the folk-lovers out there, QLD duo Busby Marou’s melodic guitar riffs and unpretentious Aussie storytelling is sure to please whilst young find, Sahara is blazing her way through the musical scene with her angelic vocals.

To go with this musical feast, the day will feature a Miss Beachfest competition, surfing and skating exhibitions as well as various market and food stalls to peruse as the sun sets on Bondi.

Surf Life Saving NSW will also represent with a surf lifesaving parade sure to bring back fond, but perhaps unflattering, Nipper memories from summer days past. And as official beneficiaries of the event, $1 from every ticket will go towards the great work these guys do every day.

Tickets start at $85 and if you’re looking to get the total experience, go VIP and book a luxe diner right on the beach. Become a Bondi Beachfest member to access the best seats and be sure to snap them up fast because, in the words of Danny Zuko, this is sure to be one of “those summer niiiiights”. So bring your deck chairs and slip, slop slap because surf’s up in a big way at Bondi this November.
